Mid-20th-century wooden model of an 18th-century Spanish frigate. As determined from the brass plaque (Fragata Espanola 1780), this was modeled after one of the Spanish ships that fought in the battle of Cape St. Vincent, which took place off the southern coast of Portugal on 16 January 1780 during the American Revolutionary War.

This is a large, lifelike example measuring L: 34" x H: 25.75" x D: 12" with detailed components, hand-painted motifs, and hand-made linen sails and flags. The details are spectacular, and all strings are intact. Very good condition. Needs some reassembly with some of the sails.
